The State of New Hampshire, Department of Health and Human Services, New Hampshire Hospital has a full-time vacancy for a Plumber.
SUMMARY:Performs work at a journeyman level in the laying out, fabrication and assembly, installation and repairs to mechanical plumbing, heating, cooling and air conditioning systems of buildings and water, sewer, and storm drains on campus.
Minimum Qualifications:Education:High School diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent plus completion of standard apprenticeship training as a plumber.
Experience: No experience required beyond the work experience acquired as part of the apprenticeship.
License/Certification:Licensure as a Journeyman Plumber by the Plumbers’ Licensing Board and NH Gas Fitter’s Licensure.
Special Requirements:Must possess a valid NH driver’s license with appropriate endorsem*nts required for the type of vehicle being operated. Must possess or successfully complete a Defensive Driving Course as approved by the New Hampshire Safety Council within the first six (6) months of employment. As a condition of and prior to hire, the applicant must have verified their current New Hampshire driving record supplied by the Dept. of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles indicating no major traffic violations.
Responsibilities:
Performs skilled plumbing repairs and maintenance in maintaining, repairing, and installing piping systems: water, sewer, steam gas, oil, air, heating, and cooling systems.
Repair, remove and install pipes, valves, drains, plumbing fixtures, grates, lovers, filters, water coolers and related equipment.
Exercises partial supervision over trade helpers and laborers.
Welds, brazes, and solders all types of material, such as plate, pipe, and sheet metal.
Cleans boilers, removes, and replaces gaskets, replaces boiler casting and grates.
Provides immediate response maintenance services.

Performing accountabilities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Communicating with supervisors’ issues related to workplace safety (i.e., ergonomics, body mechanics, environment, equipment, etc.).
Reporting on the job injuries to supervisor IMMEDIATELY.
Attending training programs as appropriate.
