DEATH CLAIMS ROBERT PLUNKETT, 85, RETIRED NEWARK CARPENTER
Robert E. Plunkett, 85, of Newark, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 2, at 7:09, in the Knox County Nursing Home at Edina, where he had been a patient since Oct. 22.
Funeral services for Mr. Plunkett will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00, in the Newark Assembly of God church, where he was a member. The Rev. Paul Wharton of Newark and Rev. Daisy Bevill of LaBelle will officiate. Burial will be in the Newark cemetery.
Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel of Edina will be in charge of arrangements and visitation will be there after 1 p.m,, Wednesday.
Mr. Plunkett was born Feb. 19, 1886, at Newark. He was the son of Silas P. and Rose Ann Scaggs Plunkett. On Dec. 25, 1911, at Newark he was married to Florence B. Poor.
A retired carpenter, Mr. Plunkett had spent his entire life in the Newark community.
Surviving are the widow; four daughters, Mrs. John (Maurita) McGarity of Roseburg, Ore., Mrs. Harold (Margaret) Pearson of Bakersfield, Calif., Mrs. Rodney (Donna) Moore of St Louis, and Mrs. Fred (Vanessa) Sells of Wonderlake, Ill.: one son, Robert Lyle Plunkett of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Joe (Myrtle) Miller of Newark.
He was preceded in death by a son, Laurel Plunkett, six sisters and two brothers.
