UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees.   • Designs, implements, administers, maintains, and supports the operational efficiency of the organisation’s Azure-based cloud platform. This includes monitoring resource utilization, support with capacity and scalability planning, resources and cost optimizations; - Configures and maintains cloud infrastructure components, monitor cloud infrastructure performance, troubleshoot and provide speedy response to avoid or mitigate any adverse impact to the enterprise end-users; - Supports in the cloud build and cloud migration exercises ensuring due diligence and due care are applied in the planning, assessment, and execution to ensure a smooth and successful transition of workloads to the cloud and to mitigate risks; - Identifies and implements innovative means to automate processes for effective management of tasks; - Provides technical support to other information systems development staff and to end-users on issues related to cloud infrastructure and risk management;

  • A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline; - Formal training in Microsoft Server and Cloud technologies, specifically Azure Cloud

Type of Contract: Limited Duration Contract (LDC), Band F. The Limited Duration Contract applies to external candidates and UNRWA internal candidates on LDC. Duration of Contract: 8 months - with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.
