So we have a first-ever undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era and his name is OLEKSANDR USYK.

The Ukrainian has achieved so many accolades in his career from the amateurs and all through the professional ranks, but this is the pinnacle, the cherry on top of the cake.

Becoming the first man to land a defeat on Tyson Fury he now joins an elite list of men to boast the tag of undisputed heavyweight champion.

It is almost 25 years since the last Lennox Lewis' reign and we have a new king of the heavyweights.

Fury played a major part in ensuring this way a fight for the ages. I was off my seat several times and in disbelief that he never hit the canvas in round nine.

That was some fight and certainly lived up to all expectations.

Thanks for joining us and, by the sounds of it, we'll get to them do it all over again in October.

It's been great having you along for the ride over the last three days and we appreciate all of your input on text and via social media.

Now get some sleep and we'll see you soon!

What a fight to watch, I was on the edge of my seat. Usyk set the tone and pushed him back from the beginning.

Tyson Fury is a warrior and he always finds a way to get back up. He took some big shots off Usyk.

And it’s over through the screaming Usyk fans to the pressers for most of the media team.

Spare a thought for Kal, he’s still by the ring updating his report amongst those supporters!

A night which had started flat has everyone leaving on an incredible high despite it being three in the morning here.

Yikes. That's much more comprehensive than I expected.

But it is hugely refreshing to see the majority of fans siding with the judges on a night of this magnitude.

My biggest fear tonight was some bad judging and a deserving victor, whoever it was, not getting the win that should have been.

Former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko speaking to DAZN: "It was very difficult to get close due to the size and mobility of Tyson Fury. In one word, Oleksandr Usyk changed from one to 100. Unbelievavble. I'm surprised Fury got up. He has the power but his power is his heart. I'm really proud tonight.

"He didn't get distracted form all of Tyson Fury's tricks. He waited for the opportunity to make full contact and he did it.

"Tyson Fury showed the heart of a lion and he recovered fast. I'm so proud of my man."

The 114-113 Fury from one judge is unbelievable.

    Liam, Stoke

One of the best fights I've seen and the judges could have gone either way but Fury asleep on his feet in the 9th is what makes Usyk a worthy winner.

"What a spectacle. It was a fight of two halves. How he survived the ninth, I thought it was very fortunate the referee didn't jump in and then what heart he showed and Usyk started to look tired.

"For me, it was a draw or Usyk by a point or two maximum. It was a mismatch early on but Usyk kept coming. What a fight. This is a massive moment for the fight.

"I thought the fight was over. You have the mark the brilliance of Usyk. He beat every champion at cruiserweight. He came up and beat AJ twice and now beat Fury. The best heavyweight in the world right now, fact.

"There's adjustments that can be made. Fury was never out of the fight. He was dominating. The rematch is a big, big fight now. This man is going to be difficult to beat."

JB on X: "Fury thinking he won that fight is just bonkers. Showboating after (and before) he hurt Usyk rather than stepping in is his downfall. I'm all for a bit of character but you still have to win the fight! Good entertainment (bar all the nonsense) tonight though!"

Tyson Fury showed heart when climbing off the canvas in the first fight he had with Deontay Wilder, which went on to finish in a draw, and he displayed that exact same heart tonight in round nine.

I was certain that Oleksandr Usyk was going to finish the job as Fury bounced from rope to rope around the ring but the Gypsy King somehow found a way to hang on in there and beat the standing 8 count.

There were questions marks over Fury after his performance against former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in October but he answered those critics, despite defeat, tonight.

    This fight had it all.

"We'll go back to our families and I'll see him again in October. We'll go back, rest up. I believe I won the fight but I'm not going to sit and cry and make excuses. We'll run it again in October."

Oleksandr Usyk may have come out of this contest with all the marbles and as the 24th man to be crowned undisputed heavyweight champion, but that was some bout between two of the best in the business.

Tyson Fury felt he was the deserved winner but the judges, two of them, went in favour of Usyk.

Fury's career won't be defined by this night. The pair look set to tango again later this year - sign me up for that - and he will have a shot at redemption.
