THE BEST KETO CANDIED PECANS
Candied pecans are one of my favorite snacks to pick at.
Thesweetandsalty balance is just so satisfying and incredibly addictive. So,it's a good thing these sugar-free candied pecans only have 1 NET CARBper serving!
They arecrispyandcrunchy, covered in asmooth sweet saucethat is perfectly sweetened, and finished off with a hint of cinnamon.
And this recipe is reminiscent of the candied pecans you'd get at a fair - and have that authentic taste - without all the carbs and sugar! Plus, it's just so easy to make them.
I guess you could sayI'm nuts about this candied pecans recipe, and I think you will be too.
INGREDIENTS FOR SUGAR FREE CANDIED PECANS
As I mentioned earlier, you will need just3main ingredients for this recipe! It's crazy how such few ingredients can create such a wonderful flavor.
Here is what you'll need:
- 2 cups whole pecans
- Heaping ½ cup granular swerve
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
- Pinch of salt (optional)
So, the cinnamon and salt are optional to add in, but I think they are whatties all the flavors together.
And make sure youpick up extra pecans- you can use them to make these keto pecan pralines and this butter pecan keto ice cream next!
Oh, and if you don't like pecans, you can use any nuts in place of themfor this recipe! And if you're wondering which nuts have the lowest amount of carbs, I put together this post to take all the guesswork out of it for you.
SWEETENING THESE KETO CANDIED PECANS
Ok, so to make sugar-free and low carb candied pecans, we will be using a keto-friendly sweetener.
And I used Granular Swerve - it is a0 calorieandsugar-freesweetener with thesame amountof sweetness as sugar, giving these pecans their iconic sweet flavor.
For another option, you can also use Lakanto's Monkfruit Sweetener. It is essentially the same thing as Swerve and will sweeten these pecans upwithoutadding any sugar.
And, finally, you can use allulose to sweeten up your pecans as well. I suggest finding an allulose blend that's as sweet as sugar if you do though since by itself it's not as sweet as Swerve/Lakanto.
HOW TO MAKE KETO CANDIED PECANS
If you've never made candied pecans before, it is actually super simple. And the entire process will take you about10minutes!
Before we begin, keep in mind that you can use this technique we are about to do to make any candied nuts! So feel free to swap out the pecans, and use any keto-friendly nut in their place!
Ok, now let's get to it!

First, get out a large pan, and heat it on lowover a flat top burner.
Once the pan is heated, addin yourpecansandcontinually stirthem around until they become fragrant. And this should only take a few minutes, so make sure you don't overcook them.
Then, transfer your pecans back to the bowl from earlier and set them aside.
Next, addyourcubed butterto the pan and stir it around until it hascompletely melted.
After the butter has melted, pour yourswerve into the pan, andstirit to incorporate it into the butter. And make sure you continually stir the butter and swerve togetherthe entire time so the swerve doesn't burn.
Then once theswerve carmelizes and dissolves into the butter, you canaddyourpecansback into the pan.Work your pecans around the pan andfully coatthem in the candy sauce.
STEP 2: COOLING
By now, your pecans should be covered in the sauce. If you would like, you canadda pinch ofcinnamonandsaltfor a little extra flavor.
And if you do this, stir the pecans around some more to work these ingredients into the pecans.
Then, transfer your pecans to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread them outevenlyon the tray to give them some room tocoolso they don't stick together.
Your candied pecans will take around5minutes to cool. Then you can transfer them to a bowl and enjoy!
