Wonderful time sharing experiences with my friend EDWIN EHIABHI who’s the West Africa Regional Sales Manager of Lohia Group. Knowledge is progressive so it’s expedient you update it continually. Your circle of friends or people around you determine the quality of information you get. Those who don’t understand this will call it pride because you choose to ignore those without same vision as you and decide to walk with those plying same path with you. Wishing all Sales professionals success before the year end. May you hit that big deal. Cheers to your huge success in advance. #salesman #professionalsalesman

Is the Business Development same with Sales.?Recently in Myanmar, majority of job descriptions for BD positions include "successful sales record" which I cannot really catch the needs of it. The worst part is BD team is given the sales target to achieve. So far my experience in BD was focusing on products, services and channels development to ensure sales team can drive the performance to achieve the targets. BD will conduct various analysis such internal, external and customer behaviors to support the functional teams. BD will use the data and results which the analysis gives, then develop the required areas in terms of products, services, channels or people. Maybe I’m wrong and correct me if I take BD mistakenly in my perspective. #experience #businessdevelopment #businessdevelopers #Sales_vs_BusinessDevelopment #team

I could never imagine the perverse incentives that come from sales commissions in informal markets. These incentives create a lot of challenges for manufacturers selling into markets like Tanzania. This problem is in part why we are seeing more and more manufacturers partner with Sarafu. Sales commissions exist to align the incentives of the salesperson with the incentives of the company. Presumably the greater the sales, the better for both parties. If only it were so simple. In informal markets it can be at times impossible to know how a sales goal is actually achieved. The absence of transparency around who is selling what to whom can lead to significant challenges in the market. Sales agents can sell products in ways that distort market pricing, information, inventory or availability without regard to the long term impact on the company. Sales reps are interested in acheving commissions. Whether the pricing, customer knowledge or any other factor is per the company policy is often immaterial. The core problem is information asymmetry. It is impossible for companies to know what a sales rep says to a customer to get the customer to buy the product.Sarafu changes the structure of the sales relationship by making pricing and ordering decisions transparent because all transactions are fully digital. By exposing the details of the transaction to all parties involved, manipulation of information becomes increasingly difficult. If you are facing sales challenges with your products in Dar Es Salaam, contact Edward Mtingwa, we can help. #sales #tanzania #informalmarkets #transparency #marketplace #sarafu

Guiding drinks producers' global reach expansion through strategic export approach and distributors network

Export Strategy is nothing if...- I was associating almost each February (between year 2009 to ~2015) with fabulous mood & great time. That used to be annual Angostura Global Sales Conference in Trinidad & Tobago during famous Carnival. That type of Brand Experience builds life time bond & emotional link with the Brand. And it's not only me who fell in love with the brand - it's so many great people I was bringing there as my customers - Angostura distributors. People to whom I can give a call any time, even if we haven't spoken or met for years. [This particular photo below was done 15 years ago in February :-)] So, you can prepare strategies, make calculations, evaluate probabilities, but nothing will work if you don't have tools and mechanisms to build your brand bonds & emotional connections with your partners, importers, distributors & consumers. And ensure you have FUN together! #brandexperiences #makememories #buildbonds #exportstrategy
